The Truth has to agree with Pedro and Ambergris Daily has a point about the Vendors on the road at Central Park.
No the Vendors probably don’t pay taxes and yes they are a disruption on the street to drivers passing by. (If the Vendors are Legal Residents or not is not a decision for anyone to make other than the proper authorities).
The Truth feels moving them to the football field in the back is not a solution until the terminal is occupied fulltime by all boat traffic from the front/beachside. As it stands now it is deserted back their most of the time other than football games. Why not put the Vendors in the park under the palapa? Tourist do like the authenticity of the Vendors in the park and the trinkets they sell. This way they are covered for shade instead of the ugly tarps and tourist can still see them from the road or the beach. They can pass them and buy something if they like. As well, they are off the road and not a problem for drivers passing by.
